FIRST TIME WATCHING Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) Reaction!

Thurrak

Not sure what you expected from the sequels, they were great imo.

Mackendie

Almost forgot how great the first guardian of the Galaxy movie was because the second movies was straight up trash 🗑️😭 but the first one was awesome great story and great movie 🍿🎥

Wendy Sparks

Did anyone point you all in the direction of the gag reel dance off scene? Even more hilarious.

adam99x

Love the 'Howard the Duck' reference at the very end. Horrible movie in the 80's...but classic nonetheless. :)

PhoenixReturns

Starts off in 1988 (my birth year), and you upload it on my birthday :D ^^

Mel Primus

Didn't know that!

Mel Primus

It's awesomely bad. I watched it several times as a child/teen. It's stars Lea Thompson, so between this moving and the Back to the Future movies, it was the perfect environment to spark a celebrity crush.

Jessicah Layfield

Of course, and no problem! I always enjoy watching with y'all!

Thank you so much Jessicah 🥰 we are very glad you are enjoying the journey with us!

So, my boyfriend loves Marvel. He's read a lot of the comics, knows a lot of the characters and details, etc. (The Hulk in specific is his favorite comic character ever.) So I have seen this movie a lot of times, just as I have all the Marvel movies. And yet, y'all make me cry again at all of it! You honestly make me feel like I'm watching this movie for the first time (or second, since I still know what's going to happen). It happens with everything y'all react to, but for some reason in this movie it just really hit me, since I can get tired of these movies after seeing them so much, but y'all just bring new life into all of it! Anyway, just wanted to thank y'all for your reactions and helping everyone have a fun (and emotional) time! I'm glad yall enjoyed it, looking forward to the next ones!

This is one of my favourite Marvel movies. My favourite being the sequel because it hits close to home for me and we'll see how you guys enjoy it when the time come. It's the most standalone movie in the franchise, but also explains the most out of anything you've seen so far, in terms of Thanos and the Infinity stones. These movies really mean a lot to me because of the themes of Family, redemption and what being a hero is at it's core. I'm glad you guys liked it so much

Superdork3k

also pretty sure the songs were written in the script as if they were gonna pay what ever was needed for the rights lol

Superdork3k

start of this movie all ways gets me crying

Joshua Markham

I'll always remember watching this in 2014, having no expectations and then being blown away by how good it is. One of the best Marvel has ever made.

Jacqui O'Brien

Did you notice that Yondu is Michael Rooker aka 'Merle' from The Walking Dead?

Susan Sitzmann

I think the duck in the end credits was Howard the Duck. One of the cheesiest yet has a cult following characters in the Marvel Universe. I may have to subject myself to the horror that movie was from the 80's. 😆

bihtress23

Like you guys, when I first watched this movie, I didn’t know about the Guardians. But I loved every second of it. It’s such a fun and heartfelt movie. I’m so glad to see it’s one of your favourites. ❤️ Oh, and there are so many great scenes in the MCU (some we’ve already seen & a lot more to come), but I must say Star-Lord’s dance-off is my absolute number one moment LOL 😂❤️ It’s so absurd, but it works and I’m here for it. 😊

James

I’m happy you guys saw that Merle dixion (Michael Rooker) was in this. His voice and demeanor is iconic no matter what he’s in. The soundtrack is beyond amazing in this movie every time the music starts I get hyped up

angie808

The dialogue in this movie is unmatched. Funny, heart-felt, and witty. And the music....❤️ This band of misfits saving a galaxy (if not galaxies) is FANTASTIC!!

Keith Duperreault

The dog would would actually be of value to a 'collector' of Taneleer Tivan's type. It has historical relevance - Laika, the Russian cosmonaut dog, the first being from the planet Earth to cross into space and maintain orbit. A new civilization's first step into the cosmic community.

CuteLiLRN

Are you referring to the Marvel One-Shots? Yeah those are a fun watch, they can definitely watch them now, just for a little bit of extra fun since they have seen all the required movies at this point.

CuteLiLRN

I don’t know if either of you watch Dr. Who, but Scottish actress Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond/companion to Matt Smith’s 11th doctor, also plays Nebula, Gamora’s sister. It’s hard to recognize her with the blue skin and the android parts, and she does an amazing job in this movie.

Shelley

Drax is my favourite!!!!

Shelley

Not me in tears of laughter all the way through knowing you've been watching vin diesel and Brad Cooper the whole time. This was a fun watch. Love how the films are all connected and seeing you both figure it out along the way xxx

Luke Fitton

Still my favourite MCU film. The Guardians have always been viewed as comedic characters but all of them (besides Groot) actually have very tragic backstories.

Kim Magee

Na that's him, like an off cut of my corals, same coral extra one though

Nathan

People can say what they want about the GOTG franchise. But this movie was important to the MCU as the first movie to focus on space. James Gunn totally nailed the vibe.

Anthony Ancona

Saw this film in the theaters, I remembered having a great time! Again when the MCU was releasing theses movies, I saw the Ironman films, Hulk, Captains America, and Thor, but I missed so many, as I was in Nursing School, I lost interest because I was on the go all the time in school. I am glad we are on the journey together! Please check out Disney + as I told Trin, they have released little short films that are average 15 to 20 minutes in length that fill in some gaps in the stories. You might ask the experts on the MCU, if any might be helpful to react to.

Johann Miranda V.

Still looking for Vin Diesel?? He is groot (the voice). great reaction guys.

Quiana Henderson

Fin fact, no one thought this was going to be good. Comics wise they're not one of the favorites and not really know outside of comics. Everyone thought this was to be Marvel's first real flop, and it was anything but. The soundtrack, the story, the charectors, all phenomenal and linking back to the main Thanks plot just enough to further that a bit. James Gunn will be taking over most of DC moving forward. He did do some more projects with Marvel prior to moving over.

Torbrevelk

I don't know if you ever pinpointed who Vin Diesel played, but his performance is legendary in this one :)

Beth

James Gunn also did the more recent Suicide Squad for DC. And a great series on HBO called Peacemaker. Both of which you should see if you haven’t already. He has a definite style and a flair for soundtracks. He’s also partly responsible for steering the direction of all the DC products now.

KAPPN

Adult groot is dead and the planted one is his sapling (son)

Scarlett Monrow

This was fun! Glad you enjoyed it!

59:38 - that drop of the orb was real and unscripted.

Ryan Skinner

I'm a weirdo who holds the Guardians franchise pretty low in terms of the my overall MCU opinions, while it seems like most find them to be among their favorites. But all the same I was REALLY surprised by this one in theaters, and having zero expectations for what it would be I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Looking forward to watching and seeing your thoughts, R&T!

Kim Magee

Yay yay yay
