Rick had the Red machete in season 4. He got it from terminus.Rewatch the episode from when Rick and the team massacre Martin them. Season 7 has nothing to do with the machete🤷🏿‍♀️

Agreed...but technically, EVERYTHING "turns you" as we all turn when we die no matter the reason. I always looked at the scratches thing as them dropping some lure they introduced in S1 that hadn't ever been addressed again. 🤷🏽‍♀️ maybe it comes back up later.....

The issue of scratches seems to come up a lot in the comments, both on this show and TWD, so here is the actual definitive answer. I have consumed every piece of walking dead media, all shows and the original comics and I take my answer from this (this is not to insult or cause an argument with anyone that has said otherwise its just the facts and if anything I'd be really interested/excited to be proven wrong) . . .scratches DO NOT turn you. Everyone is infected with the Wildfire Virus (the virus that reanimates you when you die of ANY cause outside of destruction of the brain). The bite, due to the walkers being essentially dead bodies, causes a fatal fever and organ failure due to the large amount of bacteria in walker mouths. It could be a specific type of bacteria but this is never stated. The bite is always fatal unless to a limb that can be severed before the bacteria spreads. Scratches could potentially kill but have never been shown to be fatal (In season 7 this will cause more confusion for a particular episode but it is impossible to talk about that just yet due to spoilers). Multiple times in comics and the shows, survivors get scratched both from walkers and also in general from other sources and then get the wound covered in walker blood and this never turns them. For a specific recent example you could look to either when Rick cut his hand in episode 6 on the knife sticking out of the walker or even earlier when Sasha accidentally cuts Abraham with a machete that has just killed a walker. Hope this clears things up, again not trying to be a smart *** just trying to provide what the canon sources show.

Soooo the whole scratches and the two buddy cops back in season 2 when they were dropping off their farm prisoner in the parking lot... that wasn't an example of a scratch that turned them. It was an Easter egg that no matter how you die you turn... it was right before we found out that through Shane's death. I wasn't aware that you guys were confused on the whole scratch thing still. Lol
