So many thoughts! I took a break from the show after season 5 to go to college so I I watched seasons 6, 7, 8, and 9 all at once during the pandemic. My thoughts at this episode was I immediately trusted Michonne's judgment, and I sobbed finding out Michonne was pregnant when Rick blew up the bridge. We all know Rick is alive somewhere but I can't imagine what she is going through during this time jump.

Season 1 Episode 1 to Season 9 Episode 5 took place over the course of about 3 and a half years. Rick has been missing for 6 years. So, as heartbreaking as it is: canonically, Rick Grimes has been separated from his group for longer than he was with them in the first place.
