They are somewhat similar, but it would be things like the types of buildings (standalone vs built into a hillside), Stone paths VS Dirt, and other such things we haven't come up with yet haha. The Shire setting would be a bit more natural, to blend in with the surrounding land.

Shires have round doors and adventurers leave them. Hidden villages have arched doors, and adventurers discover them.

Hidden Village and Homestead Shire seem very similar, I'm not sure what the difference would really be.
