Tuft Buster (Grass Tuft Template)

We like to switch it up from time to time and give you something a bit out of the ordinary. This week we're putting our spin on a grass tuft-making tool with some simple features we'd like to have ourselves!
First, we kept it small...about the size of a credit card. This makes it easy to print and easy to store. No need to have a large surface area to work on, as with this little guy you can bust it out just about anywhere to get the job done.
Next, we include several types of shapes on a single template so that you don't have to cut up all your larger ones to get what you need. A few unique shapes, like blobs, and skinny strips are perfect for creating a natural-looking grass patch, or a strip of grass growing against a ruined building.
If you've ever used one of these before you know that one of the key things to success is keeping your template firmly in place while you work on it. To make sure it stays put, we added spaces that could be used with magnets to hold your piece down to a metal surface (3x2 magnets work well), and also pin holes so you have the option to use push pins to secure it to a piece of foamboard, cardboard or anything else that you can put a pin in 📍
No flock applicator? Just sprinkle your flock from above to prevent clumping and you should still be able to make some tufts that will look fantastic on your bases or next terrain project. I'm still working on my technique...but it's been a lot of fun making these things!

Use white or tacky glue. Use a non-stick backing paper (parchment paper), and after applying the grass onto the glue wait until the glue is completely dry. Then peel off the paper, and punch out the grass tufts from the back of the template. 'White' glue or Tacky Glue shouldn't be able to bond with the template itself. Hoping to provide more tips soon, but hopefully, that gives you a start :)

Great and useful idea! thanks. By the way, when whould be the best time to retire the template after applying the grass? should we need to wait until the glue is dry? does this will glue the template as weel to the grass turfs? any suggestions?

This Is just an idea, maybe in the future we could see a ruler for miniature scaling one side on cm and the other side in other measures. Happy day
