Hmm, it could be the type of clay. Sounds like it's shrinking a lot while drying, causing it to warp. You'll ideally want to use clay that has minimal shrinkage. We use DAS brand air-drying clay, for reference. Something you could try is gluing the tile down to a square of foam board before it dries, hopefully forcing it to remain flat while it dries at room temp.

Looking forward to making these. Quick question, though. What's the best way to keep the clay from warping? I'm trying a few rollers and I keep getting them cupped up as they dry.
