Yes, there will be more male characters. There will be a horse boy, and afterwards, I'll probably hold another poll for the next batch of characters ^_^

Just pledged and played through the game so far and I have to say love it. I do have one recommendation though; I think it would be nice to adjust your ability power so you can go back and "re-fight" the characters in the hotel without seeming to be so much more powerful than them. I mostly recommend this because I messed up. I ended up getting to the Akina fight while being way weaker than her. She basically destroyed me. So I went back and grinded a level or two back at the hotel doing “Re-fights” but afterward I was now nervous that all the next monsters were going to have such huge power jumps and ended up level grinding way too much and now characters are way to overpowered. ☹
