The D-mail about Kurisu's death was sent to Daru and his phone was connected to the microwave phone as he was doing some tests. The existence of this message activates Sern's program, which generates a change of timeline to one in which they manage to build a time machine and there is a dystopia, this in turn makes Suzuha travel to the past but because of a problem of coordinates the time machine appears in the middle of the building, so the conference is cancelled and Makise was never in the place where she would have died.
