I can't believe I did not catch on to the reason why Roxy felt so left out in her own tribe, even if it was literally already spelled out to us earlier in the episode...

Roxy's inability to understand what's being communicated to her is similar to how some people with autism really struggle with the same types of communication everyone else considers easy or common place. Another similar situation is how deaf people feel in an environment where everyone can hear and only their parents and teacher can communicate to them through asl. It's tough.

In the Migurd tribe only the villiage guard and chief can speak any of the common languages since, they have to communicate with visitors and traders. In the scene where the mom was teaching Roxy you can see that even the mom doesn't know the words she's teaching. Roxy's mom learned the language for Roxy's sake.

I love how Roxy suddenly started bawling out because of memories of her childhood and finally acknowledging her parents care and love for her. Got me crying too ð
