This doesn't read to me like her having a problem with it so much as her having a problem with it being dropped on her casually, out of the blue, in a tone treating it the same as "Oh, I saw Patricia at the store last week, she says hi".

I cannot for the life of me see how anyone should have a problem with this. Go live your best lives, mom and dad. Life is short, the kids are alright, Tara is a clingy baby with abandonment issues.
