I did talk (I think in E4) a little bit about my history with self-harm, so when it came up in E5, I was really surprised. The more I've thought about it since last night, the more it is affecting me/making me realise the depth of this story. I should have mentioned it in the video, but it hadn't sunk in at that point... in case anyone is struggling with anxiety or depression, and hurting themselves as a result (there are other ways you might be hurting yourself), I hope you will find the courage to seek help <3 you deserve to feel happy, you deserve peace of mind.
In high school I found comfort and consolation in religion for a while but after 2 years it wasn't enough. I had grown used to always searching for peace and happiness outside of myself (religion, a relationship) and that "didn't work" anymore. I started reading tons of self-help books and even getting professional help to manage my anxiety. It took a while to really learn what it means to love myself, and be myself, and find peace within myself.
Slowly but surely my whole life started turning around and it has just been getting better since. Of course I still face problems, but I haven't fell back on old habits of self-harm in over 4 years now.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is just so that if there is anyone going through a similar experience right now, you need to know that it's okay <3 it's part of the journey! Don't judge yourself for it. The worst times in your life lay the foundation for the best times. "Maybe you have to know the darkness, in order to appreciate the light". Just know that "this too shall pass". It will get better. And you deserve happiness and not just goodness, but GREATNESS.

what a beautiful message. I still really struggle with self harm and i always end up slipping back into im trying to find better coping mechanisms. for me , this is when monogatari gets so good. Like itโs so hood before but now imo i feel like it gets to a different level ๐ธ๐
