🕑 Added 2024-11-20 00:55:34 +0000 UTCSorry about hte radio silence everyone! I took a week to visit NYC for the first time and I just got back yesterday :) It wasn't exactly an unplanned trip, but what was unplanne was how little time I ended up having to post anything while I was away.
As a result, I am behind where I hoped to be, but I have a lot of nearly complete things I'm going to be polishing up and sharing because the trip was full of inspiration and I'm eager to get back to work.
I am really enjoying this green/orange color palette. It's really punchy and also flexible. It's a bit like the CYOA palette in a sense but more limited. While I was traveling I got a bunch of art books that are really inspiring, I'll definitely be sharing more about those!
Thank you for being patient with the Libby & Holly Ch3 finals, my progress has been a little slow on that front but that's my biggest priority for the rest of the month, to get that totally wrapped up.

Yes! I've got too many projects ideas but I did briefly think about tying witches in with the dryads in a purely fantasy story, but I ended up just slipping it into Libby and Holly instead ๐ I'll definitely keep exploring witches in the long form stuff to because they're really fun

I really dig the palette! Glad you enjoyed your trip, I also went to NYC 5 years ago. BTW, would you be open to sharing that fountain pen brush I see all the time in your drawings and in these ones too? It seems quite fitting for playing around with pressure and line weights and such.

Probably everything I ate in Chinatown and Nolita ๐ I don't know if it's considered a tourist trap or not but I had soup dumplings for the first time at Joe's Shanghai and that was a delight.

I did have a magical time! The weather was really nice too, great for walking around. I didn't realize how much brain power learning how to navigate the city would require! I was so tired the first couple days ๐

You are one of the special ones that knows what that's called ๐ my studio helper Kitt was like "you gotta draw some hennins" -- I love a good hat. Kinokuniya, Strand Bookstore were my favorites, just because I bought the most stuff there lol Forbidden Planet comics was cool, and I would have loved to make it to more comic shops (heard good things about St. Mark's in Brooklyn) but I really didn't leave Manhattan. A friend told me about Sweet Pickle Bookstore in Chinatown which sounded really cute and also delicious, but I wasn't and to make it there!
