🕑 Added 2025-03-20 04:18:35 +0000 UTCSince we're coming up on the end of March I wanted to share an update! Just to maintain transparency and keep everyone involved.
This is probably the longest it's taken me to write a chapter so far if we start counting from the day chapter 3 was published. The length of time frustrates me but to share why:
Chapter 4 is well over 100,000 words.
The Challenge in Chapter 4 requires a choice that effectively branches the chapter in multiple different ways. The entire week changes based on MC's choice at the start so it's a lot of moving things around and making sure the /essentials/ are covered in every route. A lot of main story things can't be missed in any route so it's a lot of planning and outlining.
More meaningful development in the routes. Something pretty big happens in Chapter 5 so once again, more planning haha I have to make sure all my cards are stacked right for that upcoming chapter. That includes relationship stats and variables checks settled.
I've been chipping away at it to make sure it's not a coded mess and that the pacing makes sense. I was really hoping for March and hated delaying it again but my chapters are big for this reason. There's a lot that goes into them. It shouldn't be much longer. I hope, with my past track record, I haven't given anyone a reason to believe that this chapter will remain in development purgatory.

I don't know if Amy reads these, but if so: is there a way to access the POVs that were on dashington? I just signed up for band tier and it looks like I missed out on some goodies! If not, no worries, I should've gotten into it sooner :)

I'm happy to wait patiently. I can't believe how nuanced your characters are already! You even have me enjoying G as an RO, and I normally hate affairs. You've honestly ruined 95% of other IFs because the quality of your writing blows everything else out of the water. I'll happily volunteer to help beta test or anything that can help you succeed.

Amy, you're so hard on yourself sometimes I hope you realise what an absolute powerhouse you are when it comes to writing. You've been writing a 100k Chapter, alongside releasing side content constantly on here, and with an injured hand plus poor puppo needing medical attention as well, and it was over the Holiday period too when people normally take time off. You're incredibly consistent to the point where I'm constantly baffled as to how you're releasing YET ANOTHER special/POV (not that I'm ever complaining obviously!). Please give yourself credit and don't worry too much about having to delay things if you're not 100%, it's much better for us and you if you're happy with what comes out rather than trying to rush and give us something you feel like you should have spent a little more time on. We're all here either way and excited to see whatever you share with us whenever you want to :)

When I first introduced my friend to this game I listened to her play it live over discord. She was going on about how great the demo was when I heard her shout WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WAS JUST THE PROLOGUE???? Literally made me jump lmao. All of that to say, these are well worth the wait, and it’s better to have it coded properly so that you don’t have to go back and fix it later. Taking your time means you save time in the long run!! And these chapters are well worth it. The replayability is already insane and we’re just 3 chapters in!!
