Oh God, that's the worst. If I had a penny for every song I'd written on PC (I've been writing old school tracker chip tunes since I was 12 haha) and lost due to deletion I'd be rich. Get a dedicated couple of external drives, keep one off-site like at a friend or parents place or even a bank strong box, and swap them out periodically. that way even if your apartment gets blown up, you still have all yr stuff ๐ didn't something like that happen in the last few months?

I knoooow, it's crazy everything that has been happening, at this point I feel like I only make Patreon videos talking about disasters hahaha this one I only have myself to blame though ๐ Oh thank you! I already delayed quite a bit the next video because I spent quite a bit of time redoing the intro and outro of the videos, also already searched for some background sounds as well, slowly rebuilding my library! ๐ I even have an external drive!! I just never thought of using it for the channel before ๐

Oh no, what a nightmare! ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ You really need to have a backup of your work. Maybe get a โNASโ, a disk drive which plugs into your home network โ and which has enough space for all your videos.

Good grief - it's definitely been a rough two or so months for you... Speaking for myself, and I dare say others may agree with me, take all the time you need to recover and/or rebuild/recreate - we'll be waiting... Also... maybe put a few memory sticks on the Throne? ๐

I used recoverit by wondershare, but I honestly can't recommend it... not cheap and really didn't do much for me ๐ Also tried recuva which is free but that one didn't identify what i lost... Will give that one from windows a try!! thank you!

Oh no! Which recovery software did you use, GetDataBack? Perhaps this link might be useful? Assuming you're on Windows: https://shorturl.at/cfsBR (Link to Microsoft help, just used a shortener so as to not add clutter) Although it's not guaranteed, obviously. I have successfully used Windows File Recovery once before, but I think it was an extremely lucky case!
