Even if Marcus hadnโt punched Trent in the eye the first time, Trent probably would have still gone after Evan after Marcus rightfully rejected him. Marcus only wants Evan, not Trent. And therefore, Evan must pay Marcusโ price for revenge. And Trent would still carry out poetic justice; an eye for an eye, though not literally in this senecio. No, in my opinion, Trent would have very well sexually assaulted Evan to get back at Marcus instead; which is honestly worse. So no; Marcus should feel no guilt. He did what was necessary both times. The universe is clearly on his side in protecting his baby boy from evil.
