Victory through malicious compliance. Amazing.

Thanks. I made it ambiguous because in many ways, our real world is ambiguous.

There's always a part 2 with me. Usually your chapters bounce around my head for negative reasons for a while. The anxiety I feel for Clark, the anger at the system. This chapter bounces around for positive reasons. It's great seeing Clark get to have "fun" again. And also, seeing Beouf (for all her Amazon flaws) actually being a reasonable caretaker and not just an Amazon. She cares about Clark's health, asking questions you'd ask an actual parent about an actual child. You've created such an ambiguous world.

Clark has never been one to give up completely.

You know I love a slow burn, though.

Yuuuup!

I always love new chapters of this story, and this is one of my favorites so far! I do hope that he somehow manages to find Cassie (and maybe somehow and to some extent save them both? dare I hope?)

That w as the best chapter I have ever read about passive resistance taken place. The bigs almost lost it with Clark just doing what he was told to. I am glad he is not just giving up but trying to some way fight back and it is nice to see the others understand what he was doing.

Such sweet victory! What an awesome idea…I wonder what Janet will think when she eventually hears. I think it is funny how Zoge and Mrs. B know he was messing with them and how they will need to be on their toes. Clark sure doesn’t seem to want to go down without a fight and I do not blame him! LOL!

There's got to be ups and downs in any story. And Clark, poor guy, really needed an up.

I think you'll like the following chapters over the next few weeks a great deal based on these observations.

Sometimes Clark just writes himself.

The Slavin

I think the teachers are starting to notice something. Glad to hear the Raine situation is going to be handled! I can see that Clark is also going to make it a nightmare for Boeuf in the upcoming days using his knowledge on his situation and how things are expected of him to aid him. Thank you for this

Clark, the Bringer of Chaos. I'm glad to see him get anything close to a victory. He just had to lean into his strengths. The conversation with Beouf implies something I've wondered about: Janet's allowing Clark moments of his old life is probably seen as detrimental to his "development" and I likely see that as Beoufs problem. She is a professional afterall, she's gone to school for this made up condition and I'm sure it says something about "Littles who reach their plateau should be kept from any aspect of their old life, or it could be psychologically harmful." Or some nonsense. Still though, I want to see Beouf struggle with this, even though she seems to have adjusted properly. Even going so far as to start justifying Clark's "old" personality as always being close to maturosis. Lastly though, I hope Beouf follows up on the chocolate thing. Someone has to give Forrest some pain.

That was awesome and definitely something I’d do in his situation

Clark needs a couple of wins. Sometimes just preventing a total blowout (poor choice of words) can feel like a victory.

🙂 Well... I'm sure this will backfire epically at some stage. But for today I think the score is 2 points Clark, 0 points Amazons. (Unfortunately the overall score is definitely Amazons a million) That was a nice light-hearted chapter that was needed!
