I just read this one. I feel so bad for Tracy. If she does end up adopted I’ll probably be just as heart broken as Clark will be. Clark is being absolutely selfish. On a side note I wonder if that one teacher ever got punished for saying that awful thing to Clark about his wife. It was not right at all.

My response will not be as great as others but here it is. Clark what the hell are you doing? Your goal is right there get your shit together come on man! Then help everyone else

So great to see this back. Looking forward to a new round of misery and excitement every week :P It's interesting watching Clark ditch potty training so quickly if it meant losing "friends". but he said it himself, if he potty trains he's still just going to be an adopted little, but if he stays in diapers he has allies. misery prefers company and all that. The Tracy stuff was pretty clear from a mile away, frankly yeah she should just quit. I know Clark wants to keep that little anchor of his old life but it's just not going to do any of them any good. Also that's a good point, she's married, to an Amazon. Does Adoption supersede marriage in this crazy fucked up world? Or is it just she'd be "returned" to her husband and told "congrats, you're a father now".

So glad this back!! Made my day to see the notification in my inbox this morning!! So much to unpack kin this chapter. His “new” relationship with Melony, the issues with the ALL and Tracy’s situation. Certainly going to be an eventful upcoming chapters which is just fine with me. I do wonder how he approaches the potty training as I doubt Janet will continue it at home or if it will be a school only thing? Although it might help the relationship overall. Also the ALL will likely use this against him some more. Always have to be careful with what one creates…lol. I feel bad for Tracy and hope they can find a way to help her but I doubt it. Plus I can see Ambrose doing the adopting just to keep up the issues. Looking forward to more!!

Agree. Such a great return to this saga. I too was surprised by Clark giving in so quickly. If I was in his shoes, I would cut my losses with my peers and focus on getting trained and getting out. Sure, they are fellow prisoners in the system, but Clark is right that the power to change his clothing has a far greater impact than in originally thought.

I hope so, but Beouf doesn’t seem to doubt maturosis at all. In fact, Clark’s lack of potty training will just reinforce this belief. She has too many reasons to believe in it while heartedly.

First of all, I have to say I am so happy to see this back! Especially with such a complex, interesting chapter! In this chapter, we get to see so many different "Clarks" that it's almost an emotional recap of the rest of the piece. I was happy for him when it looked as if he'd be allowed to use the toilet again and very disappointed that his classmates ganged up to set him back (even if they did use his own lies against him, which is a nice twist). Interestingly, if Boeuf et. al. could see past their own biases and understand why he did it, they might be able to understand that his poopy diaper was itself a sign of maturity: he is acquiescing to his reality even if it is not in his best interests overall. But the biggest surprise here is the sudden inclusion of Tracy and the fact that she is undergoing to the same kind of attack plotting that Clark himself fell victim to. I totally agree that his reaction is selfish—heck, even *he* knows this—but it is also understandable. And I'm hoping that it leads him to a means not only to save her but also, eventually, to save himself, at least to some degree. I think it might destroy him if Tracy were declared to have Maturosis. OTOH, maybe it could begin to plant doubts in Boeuf's stubborn brain?

Great chapter as always! It goes to show the difference between friends who want to keep everyone at their level and friends who want to raise each other up. Too many gatekeepers for Clark to get out of diapers. Speaking of which, I have no doubt that Beouf and Janet spoke earlier. Beouf probably told Janet to that they should try to potty train Clark. Janet probably didn’t want Clark out of diapers but Beouf probably reassured her that he isn’t ready to be out of diapers and that this will help out Clark emotionally. And poor Tracy. I think Clark is being selfish again here. Just like Clark knew he was in danger at work (the kids paper, planting diapers etc), before getting caught Tracy is in the same situation. Clark probably knew that he should have quit but he didn’t. Then he got caught. Tracy is in the same situation. Tracy should quit. But Clark wants her to stay because he misses her. He is willing to gamble with her life/freedom because he wants his old friend to stay. That is selfish to me. Also even though Tracy is being set up, should she fail, Beouf and Janet would turn on her for having maturosis in a second. Just like they did with clark. She needs to get out but clark is being short sighted again. Even if he comes up with a plan and it works. It would still have been a massive risk.

I just started re-reading the book from the beginning yesterday and debated about waiting until I reread to come to this. I'm finding some interesting ways you wrote from the beginning and curious where you take this new part of the work. Going to have to keep re-reading! :-) It would be nice if Tracy at least could avoid having the unhappily ever after ending at least. Maybe if they can tag team taking down the witch that would be a start. Smart thing really is to quit and run off though! Glad to see you coming back to this, hope you're well!

I was wondering what was going on with Tracy, shame that Beouf is still trying to keep him in the dark about his friend and former assistant but I really hope they all come together to help her like they did for Clark. It's also a shame that now Clark has to wear these fake masks once again around not only the Amazons but with his own peers as well. I'm sure that won't be a great headspace for him, but I'm hopeful! <3 As always it's a great chapter! I still gotta catch up on Narnia and some of your other stories, but I'm glad this one is back Pers!

Glad to see this back after a good break. It's like buying the next book in a series, sad when the first book is done but great knowing the story is back

I figured this might happen. The moment things got better on one end, they get worse on the other. No solutions, only trade offs.

Great return chapter, well worth the wait. Lots of awesome Clark interiority and daycare group dynamics. I love the lie coming back to bite him in the ass. I'm surprised Clark "gave up" on potty training so quickly. I wonder if he's buying time to figure out a way to not alienate his classmates.
