Thank you for doing this. Haruhi was an amazing show with amazing characters and deserves its place on Olympus with Monogatari. I'm going to enjoy revisiting it along with you.

Sure she acts horribly at times but I dont think you can call her a bitch- that implies she is deliberately being nasty, wanting to cause hurt- and she never does that. Its like the bit where kyon says she considers guys the same as potatoes- in truth, its EVERYONE, not just guys. Everything is internal, about what SHE wants, and she never thinks for a second about how her actions may affect others. At least not early on. She does become somewhat more balanced and empathetic over the series due to Kyon.

^Ambition is the wrong word- she has zero ambition as far as I can remember. She simply wants to do things that are the most interesting / unique / different to her. But yes she can go way overboard in being selfish and ignoring other peoples wants/wishes etc- especially in the begining- but as Tee said, thats something being grounded by Kyon and being with them all helps her with over time. And besides being like that she is also glorious in lots of other ways :)

Gosh, Haruhi is just the worst haha. Energetic with ambition, but not afraid to make problems for everyone around her. Humility and gratitude are important

And then you realize that during this entire episode Haruhi was being a complete bitch to Mikuru. The episode that got me into Haruhi was the same one that completely opened my eyes and destroyed it for me. Just took 2 seasons to realize.

I still remember that chat we had on Discord at least a year ago where you convinced me to watch the Episode 0 of Haruhi, and I fell in love at first viewing. I'm so happy that you're putting out a full dive into it!!
