So first off, apologies for the radio silence. As you probably know I dislike posting when I feel like I don't have anything interesting to say, or some new part of the process to discuss, but then it compounds upon itself and before long people are wondering if I'm still alive, which is probably worse than boring you so really shooting myself in the foot on that. General gist of dev life is that nothing super new or exciting has happened. Just been looking at renders, changing renders, and of course because it's me, adding more shit.
Bluntly I've just not been super happy with the update, I looked at what I had together and just felt it wasn't at a standard of work that I consider acceptable for myself and I'm not happy putting out something that I'm unhappy with as a product. Still, by the time this is posted I'll be sending an early test build over to the testing gang, getting the ball rolling on the code issues most likely to break the game, if we can summit that cliff a good chunk of anxiety and work will be relieved.
Beyond that, any further issues can be laid at the feet of aforementioned "creative unhappiness." I'll put further elaboration in the rant post but in general this update has ended up longer than expected by a not insignificant margin. To put it into a numbers my initial draft when I hit what I felt was my complete state was about 48,000 words. With further additions that were totally necessary (most of them anyway) that number is now sitting at around 75,000ish words. Pretty big difference as you can see, for further context the entirety of Book One was about 214,000 words. So Part 8 alone is about a third of that size. There's some potential solutions to that but I'll mention that more in the full rant, just giving a quick example here. Of course with all the extra words means extra renders, animations ect. Like Sisyphus I roll the boulder up the hill only to watch it roll on back down on me. Finally managed to get a an early test build though so I'll take the small victory, apart from two scenes I'm still fucking with (they're intertwined, so really it's one) I'm happy enough with it, they still need art work but that's the easier item, just more time consuming. But that in a small nutshell is why I don't have a date for you yet. If you want a more in depth discussion I'll have a post prepped up for the weekend.
But since this is my bullshit I'm probably going to switch off billing going forward until release, seems the most fair thing I can do at the moment. I also have something else I'm working on as a bit of an apology when I have some time so I'll talk more about that soon. That's about it today, I'll be dealing with some IRL stuff the next couple of days so I'll be away from my PC, but I'll be back Friday.

Part of that read just like another dev I follow, Not happy with the work, adding shit, trying make the renders better. It's a tough job and you chose to do it. Now try to also relax a destress some times. You can't always please others, but you can please yourself.

No problem. The results are worth it. For me, Unbroken is the best AVN I have "read". Story, character creation, and renders are top of the game. Release when you are happy (enough :) )

I am completely fine with all of this - you already delivered and you are an AVN Wizard in my mindโฆ๐ As long as you continue, speed is not what i am looking for, its quality what matters and that is what i like about Unbroken. Good things take time, speaking for myself you dont have to pause billing, but lets hear what the other guys think about it. Just my 2 centsโฆthanks for listening ๐ซก๐๐
