in the Odyssey, Ody gets given a block of beeswax by Circe for the exact use of not hearing the Sirens. I wonder if Jorge would have that being the same, considering there's differences in how Ody deals with both avoiding the Sirens' songs and with how the siren's die

My favorite bit about that Thunder Bringer animatic is how little Zeus cares at the end. He put on this big show with clouds and lightning ladies and poses, and then at the end when he gets what he wants he just casually drops a lightning ball like he can’t be bothered to put more effort in it. Just emphasizes his otherness and overwhelming power.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it but in the Thunder Bringer Animatic the cloud Zeus manhandles is most likely meant to be shaped like Penelope, it has her bun and comparing the silhouette to the actual design we see later it looks really similar Which is also such a Zeus thing to do

Definitely would love to see alternate animatics reactions for sure. I feel it maybe better as a patreon exclusive thing though, kind of like you did with keep your friends close. Like, Ximena's Suffering is also really good and blends into her Different Beast a lot more cohesively. Also, there are like 4 other Thunder bringer animatics that are so good out there like Duvetbox has a really good one and so does TheeArteest. Also, AnniFlamma is working on one, its just not done yet.

Yeah, I had similar vibes with everything that's happened eury felt suicidal from how things sounded ect, it specifically reminded me of something I've heard from others who've been in that mindset (who've been suicidal but backed out last second which eury couldn't do)

Eurylochus not attacking Odysseus is the interpretation I had when first listening to thunder bringer, (I missed the live stream, so I only had the audio to go by) because in mutiny, it sounded like Eury WANTED to die. He's tired, he's starving, he's betrayed his brother and king, he's lost hundreds of friends and he just wants to it stop.

I’d specially love to see you guys react to the Scylla animatic by Krieo (I like it almost as much as the Gigi one, sacrilege I know but ‘tis the truth). I would love to see you both react to alternate animatics, that would be amazing. And you both have to watch Coraline now together sometime in October. These were Epic animatics were amazing, everyone was amazing, but I loved the portrayal of Zeus the most. This was the first time I felt we got the true, Greek mythology, version of him. He is extremely icky and while the lyrics show it, seeing it just seemed more impactful.

I love the parallels between Ximena's "Different Beast" & Neal's "Thunder Bringer". Both start off with a big crew (the sirens/ Odysseus & his men). Both choosing a target that they should've avoided (the sirens trying to kill/eat Odysseus and his crew & the crew killing one or more of Helios's cows). Then have the leader of the group (Siren Penelope & Odysseus) watch their comrades die. The only difference being that one dying with their comrades while the other wound up being spared.

Not sure how viable it would be, but maybe on top of occasionally checking out alternative animatics for patreon, if you did like a "first upload of the month smaller creator animatics highlight" for YouTube I think that could go over well, whether it's for epic or whatever musical you're currently digging into on the channel. The bigger artists will find their audience naturally, but the smaller ones could potentially benefit from the YouTube upload attention

In Gigi's animatic for Scylla, when Eurylochus was about to confess to opening the windbag, the men aren't holding thier faces of what's about to come! It looks more like they're plugging their noses because of all the corpses and other nasties that are visible in the background of that specific shot! However, after the confession, during the "Full Speed Ahead" lines, it DOES look like men are somewhat reacting to it now, and it is also showing off how some are still trying to block out the smell of corpses. Personally would love to see a reaction to Riley G.'s Mutiny animatic, as I'm a fan of that one in particular!

YES I would love for you to check out the alternate animatics, I would say keep it on the Patreon but if you do want to post some of the reactions that would be fine as well! I recommend checking out Duvetbox's animatics. Their thunder bringer is amazing and I honestly like it better than Neal Illustrator's, though theirs is amazing as well. Duvetbox's suffering and different beasts are amazing as well❤️ But anyway, this was an amazing reaction!! I was smiling and laughing watching through it❤️ I like how it was all in one video so if that makes it easier for you then I would continue to do it this way!!

That is true. Circe created Scylla. Circe fell in love with a man-turned- Sea God (he ate Moly) and he rejected Circe for the Nymph Scylla. And out of heartbreak and jealously she tainted the watering-hole that Syclla would bathe in with Moly and she transformed into the monster we now know as Scylla. It is supposedly one of the reasons she wS exciled by the Olympian Gods to her island as everyone was afraid of her power. It seems as though it is definitely a regret she had though as her rash act caused so much chaos and death after.

Just to give something to think about it you haven't already. But it isn't just Odysseus silently accepting Eurylochus betrayal months before. If you listen and pay attention to Scylla's lyrics, yes she's describing consequences to Eury's actions, but the entire song is a telepathic message to Odysseus directly. Meaning the revelaed "plot twist" is something Eury did to Odysseus, which he is finding out, immediately before he does the exact same thing to his entire crew. So it's a mix of acceptance that it happened and "I can't be one to talk because I'm about to do the same thing now" Also with Odysseus breaking out of the ropes, it makes sense that he only broke out with after Eury killed one of the cows. Odysseus KNOWS that Zeus is going to be the one to appear to dish out punishment. When he's tied up after waking from being unconscious following a death match with his brother in arms with a mortal wound. He is exhausted and in a lot of pain with only bandages holding him together. When Eurylochus kills the cow and he knows who will be showing up, he probably gets a huge burst of adrenaline knowing that all of them are about to die if they don't run immediately.
