Acquiring new software to play with definitely helped, as well as finding out about...The Rumble Fish 2? which uses a similar animation style.
Seems like an efficient way to add frames where I need them, since I'm always behind x.x

I did not realize hitting enter would send a reply instead of put me on another row! I picked up a program called uuhhhh PixelOver, which can do Tweens and Bone animation, but also has a lot of cool tools to keep it pixely and control the pallete, and outlines and stuff.
