and my goal was trying to get a "one punch" dynamic pose with mar in his full armor. which is a big challenge so you make a good point

Same thing for the 3 point landing of superheroes. You'd probably break yourself down to nothing, but it conveys an impression of ground pounding landing which has rarely been conveyed in other ways.

Yeah, but you can learn form failures too. So there's that. I mean there's a reason why most of the times the blastwave is drawn almost flat. It might be unrealistic, but it makes it visually clear.
