You guys are definitely the best reaction I’ve seen to this series. A lot of people forget to treat these characters like children. They compare them, decide who is more evil, or who handled their trauma the best. It’s refreshing to see you all empathize with all the characters, and understand how their childlike views impacts the way they handle these situations. <3

Shizuka easily manipulating Azuma and Takopi to do what she wants, just like the mother using and manipulating men for money. And the other mother who abuses Marina because she herself is getting abused, so Marina also abuses other children. Truly a tail of bad parenting.

@19:33 a “what could’ve been moment” 😢. I feel like Marina’s mom has very deep abandonment issues, maybe her dad or mom left when she was young, or maybe it started when she had a ex boyfriend. EP 4 to 6 are what made this anime my fav

Each episode of this show is like getting a Mike Tyson blow to the face full of trauma and pain. The upbeat music and bright colorful imagery just makes the darkness more pronounced. I just feel so very bad for the children and Takopi.

I was thinking that. All three are dealing with different levels of abuse. It’s gut wrenching watching them go through such awful things.

I wonder if the 3 kids are meant to represent different facets of child abuse. Shizuka - neglect, Marina - physical, and Azuma - emotional. Regardless, I’m glad we’re getting some character development for Takopi at the end of this ep. Maybe all that remorse and guilt will push him to find a new better way to save everyone from their situations.
