As far as I understand everything, the original timeline had Takopi find Marina in high school and then all the events in this episode happened and it’s alluded that Shizuka still tried to take her life in this timeline so the bullying happened. In this timeline, the rope broke so she didn’t die. Takopi goes back to his planet in order to go back in time and kill Shizuka but his memories are erased and he instead finds Shizuka first thus creating the timeline we’ve been following since the 1st episode. When Shizuka hit him at the beginning of this episode, his memories came back and he recalled the events of the original timeline aka what we saw in this episode. I don’t know what his original sin is though and why he was banished. Maybe we’re supposed to interpret that on our own. I think Takopi hitting his mother shows that he’s been corrupted so maybe that’s the sin.

So what I read is that in the manga, there’s a panel of Takopi flying back to town after Shizuka hits him. So it’s still in the same timeline, he just got his memories back and flew home without her.

Well, Shizuka's dad is trashcan on legs. Yes!!! Sam is absolutely correct. We have to help the kids!! That's the most important thing. I feel so bad for Takopi, poor little guy intentions are pure but his inexperience and naivety just unfortunate compounds already terrible situations. I wonder how everything is going to conclude? I deeply hope it's a positive one.

The moment shizuka hit takopi is when his memories started to come back, he didnt switch timelines. They are still in the timeline where he kills marina. he was just recalling his forgotten memories, and that's why azuma still talks to him
