At 38:13, Ryuen’s line 「誰かを切るってのは、それだけ難しい」 translates to “It’s not easy to abandon someone.” No one's killing anyone. Whoever did the translation probably misheard “切る” as "kill".

Sakayanagi doesn’t get special treatment from her father, the reason she knew about ichinose’s secret is because ichinose told her, this is a detail from the novels that the anime left out, there was a scene in the first season if I remember right where they were seen hanging out together that’s very brief, and that’s when ichinose told her

He does not internally show emotion in the light novel except for the very beginning of the series when he is trying to play the part of a normal student, even in his own head. I agree that we know a lot less about what he is thinking, and his character is more vague, but there is nothing in the anime that contradicts anything about Aynokoji's character at all. It is unfortunately a widespread misconception that he experiences emotion in the Light Novel any more than he does in the Anime. Every volume that comes out makes it more and more clear that the anime is doing a faithful job with regard to character-building.

Time for some more info cuz the anime can’t do it all. Ayanokoji’s characterization in the anime is super simplified in comparison to his LN self. Here, he seems completely cold, self-aware, and always plotting. In the LN, he actually gets surprised with ppl doing stuff for him, internally shows emotion, and actually has a human side. Also, for Sakayanagi, it’s explained that she and her father are independent when it comes to the school

In episode 5 the anime doesn't do a good job of explaining the Kushida situation as the LN. Ayanokoji paid Kushida an informant's fee for rumors about each class since Kushida's network is so vast. He then got the vice president to publish those rumors on the student bulletin board. He did this to decrease the popularity of Nagumo, to get the school involved to stop the spreading of rumors and to see how destructive Kushida could be. As you could tell just two rumors being exposed caused quite a riff within their class. Yamaguchi is hyping them up because he's a loser (respectfully to all the yamagod people out there).
