You scared me for a second, but there's an explanation: The spell that transformed Abigail was stronger (reality changes slower). They had to activate an enchanted item full with power to make sure it changed her. Kai's memory is weak against his own spells because they're so weak. But you're right I might be a little inconsistent about memory and reality changes. Like how the bikini girls almost instantly forgot. I'll just say that as the viral part is weaker than the main spell and most of the power went to destroying the enchanted clothes, so reality changed fast.

Just realized something Kai’s memory retention has already proven to be somewhat poor so why does he still remember Abigail as his mother without wearing the hat?
