I see why Joel wanted Uhtred to have more love for the Danes, but Tay seems to really be understanding the premise and the position Uhtred is in. Uhtred hasnt given up on the danes just yet though 😉 Loving yall reactions to this show,and it gets soo much better

The Danes didn’t treat him with kindness it was Earl Ragnar’s family that did. He’s loyal to them. His brother is in Ireland and back then when someone left for a long period time you didn’t know if you would see them again. He couldn’t just wait for him to come back. He wants his home back. He can’t do it without an army. He did go to Ubbe first but he didn’t believe him. Now he’s trying to get support from Wessex to get his home back and he has to earn their trust first

The “recap” at the beginning of each episode is REALLY good in this show. They have Alexander Dreymon (Uhtred actor) narrate and he recaps it beautifully

It's the nuance of being a saxon boy raised by a Danish man who was killed by the alliance of specific Danish and Saxon people who just so happen to be connected to both his Saxon past and Danish upbringing. When the whole world's against you, all you have is your name and what belongs to it. And the only thing Uhtred has to his name is Bebbanburg.
