I love the gladiator feels this gives off, wrut is an amazing character design. the harsh blacks work so well with your style, it gives it so much pop and intensity.

Super interesting to see some of your color image refs! Love the style of this, and the strong pose. It somehow comes across as very manga-esque. I can't quite put my finger on what this reminds me of--maybe Berserk or Lone Wolf and Cub? The color palette itself might be what makes me think manga, despite the Frazetta focus.

I love it and I think Frazetta would too. I think using bolder/deeper colors as opposed to the lighter/more muted palette (like your reference pieces) works better for this piece. If you like constructive criticism (if don't stop reading so you don't hate me), I would reexamine the lower back/butt area as something about the posture reads funny. The rest of your fantasy anatomy work is fab. The whole double shoulder blade thing is such a bitch and you continue to tackle it like a pro.
