AHHHHH Cole!!! Here I feel like it’s Cole’s time to shine in terms of expression. I love that like, Kevin just has to look a little closer to know exactly what’s going on. It’s so adorable and like ‘yup, these nerds are in love, they know each other really well, enough to do this kind of stuff.” The “why didn’t you TELL me, baby” had me giggling, and the “It’s messed up, Kevin” coming from behind Cole’s hands was adorable I was over the moon! Okay now to just… totally gush over the last panel. I LOVE the wavy lines in this, the trembling and Cole’s mouth is so gorgeous and… ah. It reminds me of Masaaki Yuasa. He’s one of my favorite animators and he’s so unique when it comes to emotion and he’s not afraid to hyperbolize and I see echoes of that here. Like… that melty, squirmy, worried feeling that Cole’s feeling, we’re seeing it in how he’s drawn, all that bashful, tuck-himself-away-and-hide instinct is here. IDK, this last panel is amazing. I’m SO happy this is the best Monday ever, thank you so much!
