I'm so sorry that this brought up that memory for you. I hope you are doing okay now.
I had a friend die like this. His wife found him face down and cold. I tried so hard to revive him but he was gone. I felt like such a failure to his wife, my best friend, even though rationally I know he was dead before we got to him.
