Ok , First , great reaction Sir. Seeing you get so invested in the film from the begining is , as always , a fun ride!! Second , I do so wish you would have watched the Directors Cut. Longer , of course , BUT , a much better film/version of the graphic novel. I have the hope that someday you will watch that version. (And thank Cthulhu you did not watch the series.) Peace

Btw don't watch the series. It starts fairly well but heavily pushes an agenda as it goes on and it's garbage. Pretty terrible acting and clearly they ran out of money by the end cause Dr Manhattan looked more like Dr Detroit lol

Some of the meaning of Alan Moore's original work got lost in the translation, but it's still a good watch as it is IMO. The characters are more likeable and it's so visually satisfying. And I always appreciate the SG-1 references. Made up for you dissing Leonard Cohen 😄

Actually understood all the parts of this movie this time. I think I watched the Theatrical 2 times, it is harder to follow. Great reaction, love the cinematography comments. Your reaction to the sex scenes was priceless. Anyways this is a great movie with a deep philosophical twist at the end, glad you finally got to see it.

Leonard Cohen's singing "style" might be a bit different but that is what makes it interesting. His version of hallelujah(the original)is the only one I like. The other versions of which there are way to many, just sound wrong😁

Please read up on the ending of the comic - it is far wilder (and better), but would have been hard to do in a movie and the public understand it - then you gotta watch the series, it was amazing

The symbol on Dr Manhattan's forehead is a hydrogen atom. The government wanted to put an atom on his head, but one with a bunch of electrons. Dr Manhattan chose hydrogen instead because it was simple.

It's actually a sequel to the Watchmen comic, but the movie is pretty close to the comic. The ending of the comic is referenced in the show, but it's pretty easy to understand.

You did not just call the original Hallelujah a terrible rendition OMG! It's by Leonard Cohen. All the other renditions are covers of his song. He has a very particular way of singing. It's an acquired taste ;) I think it's best in his later work. "Nevermind" is really cool. It's also used in the opening sequence of season 2 of true detective.

The boys is it own comic series made by the guy who did the walking dead. This movie gets lots of hate for its ending it's different in the book but same result personally I think the movie ending is better.

Yup, I agree, 10/10, one of the best I've ever seen. When this came out, I'd say the main issue was that the cinema cut was shortened too much. Came here for interesting commentary and opinions as always, while also watching this gem, great as always.

This movie was based on a comic book of the same name which was a deliberate parody of the entire super-hero genre and a satire of the very idea of 'Heroes', and yes it did inspire 'The Boys' among others.
