I'm voting for sons, you can't go wrong with any show realy. It's just that not many people react to sons its (imo) a great show with lots of different "feels". I wouldnt mind your reactions to HBO's OZ, and True Detective Season 1.

Your missing half the votes because 50% of them are being split up between the bottom 3 shows. If the other half were voting between Sopranos and SOA Sopranos would win 70% to 30%. He will probably end up watching both shows so guess it doesn't really matter.

SOA isn't at the level of The Wire in terms of quality, but it's a lot more *fun* than either of the other two - some folks don't always want to watch highbrow drama and enjoy midbrow biker bullshit. Also, the anti-Sopranos vote is going to consolidate in a single challenger in a first-past-the-post system - same reason America has two political parties and not three or four or five. :) Ideally you let people vote for as many choices as they want so that the vote doesn't cluster in the same way.

I second that. Sons of Anarchy is fun for a bit then obnoxious nonsense by the third season. Sopranos will take forever. He probably should start a SHORT Series Day for shows like Chernobyl, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Season 1 of True Detective, Season 1 of Rome. Things like that. Self contained seasons where you don't need to watch more than 1 season.

Well I'm disappointed Deadwood and Chernobyl didn't make the list. Most of the shows here are very long and/or the kind that start off strong but start going downhill at some point. The best shows to react to are short because they maintain quality and the attention of viewers when you're reacting.

Yeah... I watched the first several seasons, but it doesn't hold up in the long run and is hardly prestige tv or even comparable to HBO shows like Deadwood, the Wire or Oz.

Not sure what I'm going to vote for yet (though it won't be SOA or Vikings). I will point out that one of these shows is not like the others, that being BOB. Unlike every other choice that all have multiple seasons, BOB is just 10 episodes. So, there's an argument to be made that those that are torn between BOB and something else, should vote for BOB first because it's so relatively short compared to everything else on this list, to basically "get it out of the way", if that makes sense. At least that's how I see it. Also, wish there was a way (is there?), to see the current poll results before you actually vote. That way if there are a couple of choices "neck to neck", those who haven't voted yet could make an informed decision about what they'd prefer.

I would be shocked if Sons of Anarchy actually wins. How could we go from Breaking Bad and The Boys to that... But hey I guess plenty of people here must really enjoy the show. I mean if we're going with that might as well just watch Gen V. Since wasn't the issue with that show the cringe drama type stuff?

Probably because those viewers are only being split between sopranos and sons of anarchy whilst the others are being split three ways between the wire, band of brothers, and vikings. Could be wrong who knows.

What thought provoking or stimulating conversation does sons of anarchy bring up? How nice their beards are? Or "omg you may recognize this actor from another movie/show and it's my favorite" Logical-movie-reviews should be Illogical-show- suggestions

Gonna start by saying The Sopranos is my pick. No dis on ANY other show. It's in my top 3 best TV Shows of all time. (MST3K , and The Twilight Zone are the other 2. But no one really reacts to those.) I truly believe Mr. Boyd would find a view this unique to "The Mafia" fascinating. Up until the final season of Breaking Bad came along, I thought The Wire was the best thing I'd ever see on TV. So now The Wire is #2, but that's still well worth watching. I realize it's running last in your poll, but maybe some day.

Vikings is incredible in my opinion. Beside everything else, i would love to hear your opinion about the visual progression of the show. They started relativily low budget in the first season, but they increases it very fast and later on it becomes, i would say eyecandy (but in a good way). Greetings from germany. Oh yea man, I was hooked from the first 10 minutes of Dexter. I never watched it until it had already been over a few years, so I got to binge it straight through. Up through the Trinity killer arc was incredible, and then it kinda meandered a while imo, but I still enjoyed it. I watched that first season of New Blood but I didn't feel magic again, admittedly. Still gonna give season 2 a shot.

Damn this one's tricky.. i've only seen One, the sopranos. So for nostalgia purposes i'd like that. Great on regardless, awesome cast and story. But many here seen SoA, so i'm inclined to vote w the pack to get into it. Love shows like the wire also.. haha since we're getting Better call saul honestly this is just an extra bonus for me.

Also, I made a giant-ass list in that recommendations thread the other day and I can't believe I forgot about Dexter. You've already got about 17 years of material to work with, though haha
