I'm not quite sure what to include in this one - usually I like to be pretty positive, and list all of the things I've achieved in the last couple of weeks working towards the next update. But this has been the most frustrating couple of weeks of development I've had in the 2 years since I started Cosy Cafe!
My aim, as you know, was to get most of 0.12 written by the time of this dev log. Unfortunately I've spent most of the last couple of weeks neck deep in bug fixing for the new UI. Most of the first week was spent getting it to work on android; which I did at long last, in time for the public release.
"Finally!" I thought, I can move on to my favourite part - the writing! And I did, long enough to get 10,000 words into 0.12. Only to then discover that something in the code for the new UI is breaking saves in future versions of the game, not just with saves from before 0.11. So then I've spent days trying to fix that - which I still haven't.
I thought that commissioning someone else to build the new UI was gonna save me a tonne of time, but at this point that's turning out to not be the case unfortunately.
Still, I don't want to be too negative - I really do love how it turned out (when it works), I think it looks great, and the new features are awesome:- but my god is it driving me up the wall!
I wasn't sure if I should include all of that in this post; as I said, I really do prefer to be positive. But I thought it was best to keep you all informed, warts and all! So, having got that off my chest, I wanted to finish with something a little nicer by including a custom render set that one of you commissioned around Christmas - enjoy!
I'm determined to make much more progress with the 0.12 writing in the next couple of weeks, even if I have to abandon the UI/save issue for now - so next time I hope to have a much better report for you all! Until then, thanks for your support; I appreciate it as always!

just started playing the game last week and took my time. i just finished the most recent update right now. i'd probably say this is my favorite out of the 10 VN's i played on itch.io. this game is super wholesome and hot. i love the story, the writing is very well done im glad i came across this game. so far this game is the only game that left me very sad but very happy in the sametime because i fell for your story so hard. i never thought i'd fall for sarah lmao. she was written so well along with the other girls i just want more ! i love everything about this game. thank you for your hard work, ill continue to support !

The UI stuff isn't a big deal for me, I still get to enjoy the story. I can understand your frustration though, as it's your creation and you want it right, which isn't a bad thing. Keep doing what you do, it's all good!

Don't worry Cosy the bug fixing integral part of the SW development. Yes everybody don't like to perform bug troubleshooting but for myself I am very happy when I see after lot of debugging I found the root cause and solve the issue finally. Think about that way with less bugs in your code more people able to enjoy it so you increase customer happiness with those corrections. The writing and story keep the VN together and that is why we enjoy and waiting for the new versions. So we both (creator and reader) also enjoy those. Thank for the update and don't worry just stay on track and provide us more content. Note: I also play the whole game again when you provided the last release ;)

Honestly, since this isn't a game with multiple routes and choices with hidden attribute scores, I'm fine with the saves breaking across each patch. All the more reason to play the whole game again <3 Either way, take a break once in a while! In Cosy We Trust

Normally she would be in the front, but she allowed the other girls to shine here which, in a way, also shows her confidence and character (I feel like she is the most mature of all the girls apart from Allison). Anyway, Sarah, Hannah, and Catherine look good with their chokers π

Just in my personal opinion saves are not crucial, there is always option to replay the game (witch i enjoy) and with the "skip" option there is few minutes delay for those who dont want do it. So no big deal. If that means you must work hours to fix this, my vote is to focus on the content. Best of luck to You and thanks for all of your hard work.

Thanks for the update Cosy! I do prefer it if you keep us informed in tough periods, I can safely say that the big majority here will be more than understanding. If anything, I'm surprised it's been going SO smoothly all this time! but a whole new UI interface was bound to bring some bugs with it - unfortunate but no surprises there.
