Sharing some sad news...
🕑 Added 2024-12-28 13:57:53 +0000 UTCWe lost nana earlier today. The rest home called us at lunchtime to say that she'd passed away suddenly. They brought her lunch and she was sitting up in the recliner, alert and talkative. We had just spent a few hours with her yesterday and she was in good spirits and finally starting to accept her circumstances of living in the home. She mentioned to the nurse that she hoped we were coming to see her again today, so they offered to go get the cordless phone so they could ring us to ask. When she returned to Nana's room 2 minutes later, she had stopped breathing and was gone.
We didn't expect it to be that sudden. We thought we'd have some warning, that she'd take a downward turn, or that we'd somehow know that it was time to say goodbye. But you don't always get that chance. But we feel confident that we did everything we could for her, and that she knew how much we loved her. She has been praying to pass for some time now, and we're glad that it happened so quickly and she didn't suffer.
Obviously, I'm not really feeling like moaning into a mic right now. I have been working on The Experiment Finale all week so it could be finished this month. I was planning to record the last 5-6 minutes of it tonight, but I'm putting that off until tomorrow night. Then I'll pass it on to the sound editor and hopefully he'll be able to do his part rather quickly, so it can be ready for release around New Years Day. Then I'm going to take a bit of a break. I should be back to recording around 2nd week of January.
Thank you to everyone who already shared your condolences on Discord. Your kindness and support in times like this is an unexpected comfort. I'm sorry to bring down the festive mood with this post, but as many of you probably feel, I'm looking forward to a fresh start and better days ahead in 2025.

Sorry to read about this Candy. A similar thing happened with my step-aunt who was living with my family before she passed. My mom went done and said good morning to her and she was getting ready to watch her shows…My mom gets in the shower then heads downstairs, my step-aunt’s lips were blue. I’m just some rando on the internet, but I can emphasize with the suddenness of a loved one not being there. 🫂
