I looked it up again to confirm what I already knew. They're trained (read: abused) by the zoo until they memorize how to paint the one specific picture. There's no indication that they have any conscious understanding of what they're doing, and they wouldn't know how to paint anything else. It's trained muscle memory, not creativity, on the part of the elephant, and it's anything but a cute story.

The surgeon who had the 300% mortality rate: it was before they sterilized instruments. He was famous for doing really fast amputations, which was helpful in preventing shock because they also didn't have anesthesia, and the less time you were in excruciating pain the less chance your heart would give out from the strain. He messed up the amputation and the patient bled out. He was also cutting so aggressively that one of his assistants, who was holding the patient down, had the fingers on one hand cut off, and he died later of septic shock from the wound getting infected. A lot of these videos seem to be premades for Youtube before their ban. So they are working through their back log. They moved back to LA, so any videos with them still in the Seattle house are old. They said that all un-censoring that could be removed has been, but if the video never had anything to un-censor in the first place then there won't be.
