Chapter 677 : Lightning Combat System!

C's expression became ugly as he muttered, “He used the Lightning absorbed by that vortex to create this jutsu. His chakra has barely decreased at all despite using such a massive jutsu.”
Realizing that Darui's chakra was now being used against them, the Kumo ninjas had an ugly expression. Standing behind C, Jin said, “Yes, his techniques are exceptional. I haven't seen anyone fight in this manner in my entire life. He can hide his chakra within a roasted chicken, use chakra threads to control its bones, has excellent speed and strength, can amplify his chakra instantly and can even utilize our Lightning jutsus against us. As peculiar as he is, there is no doubt about the threat he poses. We shouldn't hold back anymore.”
If Fujin could hear their conversation, he would have chuckled. His Lightning combat system was quite unique. In fact, he hadn't even planned most of it. When he started creating it, he only focused on 3 points.
The first was using Lightning to enhance his body's speed. He had a decent amount of success in this aspect due to the jutsus in Konoha's library even though he was still very far from the Raikage's level. Copying Kakashi's Chidori along with his swordplay also made Fujin's close combat skills excellent.
The second was the speed of his weapons. Fujin had complete success in this aspect. He was definitely among the best in the world in controlling Lightning-charged weapons. Their speed and penetrative power made it very difficult for enemies to defend. It was his substitute for the Vacuum Bullets.
And the last aspect was strong Lightning jutsus. By supercharging the False Darkness jutsu and improving his control over the jutsus with Yin and Yang manipulation, Fujin had sufficient skill in this aspect as well.
Backed by his basics, Fujin felt that these three aspects should be enough for him to be able to confront weaker rank S ninjas and even kill Elite Jounins. In the future, once he could get his hands on the Lightning Chakra Mode, he would be able to go up against top-tier rank S ninjas with just his Lightning release.
However, through several strokes of luck, Fujin's Lightning combat system had become far more sophisticated. The first stroke of luck was undoubtedly meeting a kind Ame ninja who donated the Blade of the Thunder Spirit to Fujin's cause. It allowed Fujin to conserve his chakra while creating insanely overpowered Lightning jutsus in the blink of an eye!
The next stroke of luck was accidentally creating the Lightning vortex jutsu while he was training. It was an excellent defensive jutsu, something that was very rare in Lightning Release. However, it excelled against enemy Lightning users.
The vortex could absorb all of his enemy's Lightning and allowed Fujin to use it instead. Even though he couldn't amplify it with the Blade of the Thunder Spirit, it was extremely restrictive for an enemy specializing in Lightning Release. After all, not everyone could create a cloak of Lightning to fight like the Raikages.
And the third stroke of luck was gaining the Kiba Blades. It helped Fujin to control natural Lightning and allowed him to create Kirin, giving Fujin a lethal attack. In addition, since the Kiba blades also had an amplification aspect, Kirin didn't leave him completely drained.
As a result, Fujin's Lightning combat system had unexpectedly become very efficient in terms of chakra and hence made his ‘Akuro’ identity very resilient. Even without the Lightning Chakra Mode, Fujin had some confidence in resisting top-tier rank S ninjas and escaping successfully. Perhaps, only the likes of Hiruzen, Ay and Obito could force him to escape using the Flying Thunder God jutsu. Not to mention, Fujin was excited to see what level he would reach if he managed to get his hands on the Lightning Chakra Mode.
Seeing thousands of Lightning crows diving towards them, Yugito unleashed Matatabi's chakra once again. This time, her chakra cloak took Matatabi's form properly. The Lightning crows hit the gigantic fire cat with full force, however, the fire in her chakra cloak destroyed all the Lightning crows with ease. Not even a single lightning spark reached Yugito or the ninjas behind her!
Fujin sighed and muttered to himself, ‘As expected, even an attack of this scale won't work…’
He looked as Matatabi's right paw covered the skies above him and moved down to crush him while thinking, ‘I guess it's time to use that tactic, otherwise, I really might get pummeled by her…’
The massive paw hit the ground, crushing all the trees under it and destroying the ground and nearby trees for several meters. C immediately looked to his left and said, “He's there.”
Seeing Yugito using Matatabi's chakra, most of the Kumo ninjas retreated. They didn't want to be caught in the crossfire.
Yugito was about to make a move on Fujin again when Fujin sighed and said aloud, “To think that such weak humans are able to control you now. I'm disappointed to see that you've fallen this far, Matatabi.”
His words shocked Yugito and others around her. Yugito couldn't help but wonder, ‘He knows Matatabi's real name? How? And why is he talking like he knows her very closely?’
Darui and the rest had the same doubts. In fact, they weren't the only ones. Inside Yugito, Matatabi wondered the same. She thought, ‘That's strange. Did I ever come in contact with this individual? Considering his abilities, I should have remembered him but why do I have no recollection?’
Yugito decided, ‘He is too suspicious and baffling. We'll need to interrogate him properly.’
‘Purgatory Flame!’
She shot a massive Fireball at Fujin. It destroyed everything in its path and exploded when it reached Fujin's position, starting a mini forest fire. However, Fujin flickered once again and dodged the attack comfortably.
Yugito continued attacking him as the remaining Kumo army retreated. Only Darui's group stayed right behind her. Fujin continued dodging as he said, “It's a shame that my powers haven't recovered enough for me to take on Matatabi yet. Luckily for you, it means that you'll get to witness one of the greatest war strategies of my era!”
Darui frowned once again and thought, ‘There he goes again. What is this era bullshit he is talking about? And what does he mean by saying that his powers haven't recovered? Did he hibernate for a few centuries before waking up? Or is there something wrong with his head?’
Darui hadn't taken Fujin's words very seriously initially. However, no one was taking his words lightly anymore. If anything, they were a bit spooked.
Yugito launched another Fireball at him which he dodged again. However, he didn't appear close by this time and Yugito lost track of him. She asked, “Where is he?”
C, who was sensing continuously, had a stunned look. He muttered in disbelief, “He is running away?”
Others were surprised as well. Darui asked dumbfoundedly, “Don't tell me the greatest war strategy of his era was to run away?”
Considering Fujin's previous antics, they wouldn't be surprised if he really did that. Suddenly, C's expression became ugly. He cursed loudly, “Shit! That bastard isn't running away! He is attacking our weaker ninjas and has already killed two!”
Without a word, all 7 of them moved quickly towards Fujin. Considering that they themselves struggled against him, they didn't need to think to know what the fate of their subordinates would be.
They quickly caught up with him, but Fujin had already killed 7 Kumo ninjas. The sight of their dead comrades enraged them. They were about to attack Fujin when he moved away rapidly without even glancing at their group. Instead, he used his superior speed to target the weaker Kumo ninjas.
Darui could no longer bear it and immediately increased his speed to go after Fujin. Yugito wanted to do the same but the presence of weaker allies restricted her. She could no longer attack indiscriminately.
Fujin glanced behind and thought, 'While I don't particularly care about the lives of these Kumo ninjas, they certainly do. With these weaker ninjas around, Yugito will be restrained. Even though Jinchurikis are treated slightly better in Kumo, in truth, it's just due to the Raikage taking every precaution.
The common people and even most ninjas still fear them, they just don't dare to say anything openly. Even though Fujin killed over 700 Kumo ninjas, he didn't really hate them. For him, it was a simple mission. Their deaths were neither beneficial nor detrimental to him. The only ones with whom he had a reason to be hostile were Darui's squad. After all, they killed his previous teammates and nearly killed him as well. However, Fujin didn't particularly hate them either.
He fell into that situation only because he wasn't strong enough. Over the course of his career as a ninja, he himself had put thousands of other ninjas in the same position. At the end of the day, it was only a matter of who was strong and who was weak. Fujin didn't see any point in fostering hatred over things that were completely normal in the ninja world.
So, the only reason why he made a move against the weaker ninjas was to distract the stronger ninjas. In fact, considering the situation, they were actually more useful to him alive than dead. He only killed a few to send a message to the Kumo elites.

The puppetting his own bones was a surprise. I imagine the lack of external force makes it difficult, unless he is augmenting his limbs movement in relation to his torso?

Fujin is now "the one who knows everything." XD. It is, I suppose, an identity created contemporary to the time of Indra and Ashura, and well, who knows when time passed until the fighting clans, the truth is that with Naruto he is to make his own Jojo's instead of a story of just one group, to the long of the time. Although I forgot if Akuro works with the ghost society or has his own agenda, it would be curious if at some point Shiden warned to avoid Fujin and Akura, and that Fujin was sent to attack Akura at some point in the story. Although with the arrival of Tsunade the political theme may relax a little, the truth is that within the fics there are many things that excite, and they are the interactions of characters with each other, whether with the reincarnated person himself, with characters from the canon, in situations that were never seen. As canon characters interacting with each other like they never did in the original story (Sasuke and Hinata the biggest example, the only time he was seen speaking was in Boruto, and that thing was strange to say the least. And it's curious to see fanfics at least SasuHina, in that sense because it is one of the funniest things to see how they even speak)

hiruzen was always wary of fujin and knew he was a weapon he can't fully control, he can only point the so called weapon at the other nations, with this incident there's gotta be a stray thought somewhere thinking " is he a danger to me and my charges too?"

Love the talking in mid fight with this identity! I know Fujin only talks while trying to psych people out, but it’s nice to play fuck fuck games once in awhile. Don’t get me wrong, I love the no talking fighting, just like some psychological warfare every once in a while.

sure he can't use kirin on darui and the rest, nobody said he can't use a supercharged kirin on the regular shinobi though , turn that 700 into 1000. it would probably make kumo weaker than konoha was after the 9 tails incident

Wonder if Hiruzen/Danzo will get suspicious that a lighting user randomly shows up when fujin is doing his super secret mission and theyre in the vicinity of each other, this is the third time its happened and hiruzen was already suspecting him the 2nd time despite having no proof that fujin has ever used lightning release. only way it doesnt get out is if Kumo keeps the information restricted within their village (which, i think is a bit of a gamble that fujin is taking here tbh)

Very Nice Chapter, good with a little more background on the development of his abilities. Love that Akuro is Fujins mouth piece for his canon knowledge if that make sense. Sorta forgot Darui, C and Samui was responsible for the death of his teammates 😅 Was waiting for him to start targeting the big army, I’d have thought he would throw a ridiculous amount of lightning charged Senbon but this makes a lot of sense as well in terms of direct fighting and using the weaker ones as shields/obstacles.
