It was clear you were in some sort of accident, but your head was still pounding and you couldn't seem to remember a lot about what happened before you woke up here. As strange as this all was, there was something stranger that was bothering you.

No, I think you got it. That's sort of what I was thinking. I tried to add an explanation toward the end but there was;t enough time and I really didn't want it to get super gruesome. Basically, I think in the accident a lot of body parts were too damaged, so they saved as many people as they could with the parts they had, now though they really didn't know who was who, they didn't want to overwhelm the victims with it right away and would rather focus on them getting better.

Hmmm, I’m also very interested in what led to such a radical change in appearance... And I even have an idea... If we assume that the “accident” in which our main character suffered was very large with a large number of victims, then we can assume that the doctors and the rescuers simply did not have the opportunity or time to understand who was who and, with a sufficient number of injuries, identification by appearance. So he could simply be confused with another girl who was also injured in the accident and when the error was discovered it was too late to correct anything... But maybe I’m wrong so I’ll wait for your answer
