A tall, rugged man dressed in a fedora and long black coat stood in front of a board with pictures of many people connected to the local mafia. This man was Rocco Howe, a former TGPD detective who now works as a private eye.
His current case was mysterious and dangerous, to say the least. Just a week ago a woman in a long black dress had come to him on behalf of her boss. Her boss wanted Howe to look into the head of the local mafia, a man called Carmine “Trigger Finger” Leone.
He was said to have killed over a hundred people in the city since taking over half a decade ago, and among those numbers were traitors to his own operations. So it wasn't a surprise someone wanted dirt on the guy. They were probably looking to take him out.
Howe didn’t care about that though; a job’s a job after all and a man’s got to eat. Though he had to admit they came to the best place. Howe’s the best in the city; hell, he might be the best private detective in the world.
On top of being smarter than the average person, Howe had another advantage he used. A special power that had been passed on in his family for generations, going all the way back to the times of dragons and magic. That ability was called object possession.
Howe had no idea why his family could do this, but his dad could do it, his grandmother could, and from what they said, everyone before them as well. However, it seems the ability gets weaker with each generation.
Howe didn’t always need this ability to complete a job, but sometimes, like in this case, it was necessary to get more information. Howe was going to use his ability to turn into something that would spend a lot of time in the presence of the mafia head.
That way he could listen in on everything and then turn back and give it all to his client. There was one problem with that though. After watching Carmine’s hideout for days, Howe realized not much went in or out. It seems there had to be a secret entrance they used for illegal activities.
The only things that walked through the front door were some goons, Carmine himself, and his longtime girlfriend Rosemary Regan. She was quite the showpiece. She never wears too much clothing, always has tons of jewelry with most of them being body piercings, and is always on his arm.
Howe decided she was his way in. So he looked her over and decided to turn himself into her piercings. Simply her earrings, as there was one catch to his ability: thanks to it getting weaker with each generation, he can't turn back if he’s in contact with a person's body.
So a pair of earrings was the best bet; she’d take them off at night and he’d be able to turn back at any time. Howe closed his eyes and began the process. When he came to, he heard Rosemary speaking and he looked and saw her looking in a mirror.
Howe was happy it worked, but then he quickly realized a problem. He expected to be split into two objects, which meant seeing, hearing, and existing from two perspectives, but he currently had a lot more than two.
It was a bit hard to tell, but he was positive he was split into nine parts right now. Which made no sense. Had he messed up and possessed a bunch of random things? That didn’t make sense either, as he wasn’t that strong; he could only pick one of the things she had on her to possess.
He had picked her piercings so he could only be that. Howe went silent for a moment. Using the parts of him he could see thanks to being on Rosemary’s ears and nose and looking into the mirror at the time, he realized what he was.
The obvious ones were the pair of earrings and nose studs, so that was three. There was one down below that, but it was dark and moist, almost wet, and light only appeared every so often. Howe was sure that meant Rosemary had a tongue piercing, which brings the total to four.
Below that he could feel two more. It was also dark for them, but not moist like the tongue piercing. No, those ones only had a soft material pressed against them on one side and firm and round mounds on the other. The soft material also felt like it was moving up and down.
After watching Rosemary, Howe was able to determine that those parts were nipple piercings, and the soft material rubbing against him was merely her shirt as she moved around, and the mounds, those would be her breasts. So now he was up to six.
Another easy one to figure out was her belly button, though it was a much lower point of view and from the belly button’s view he couldn't see the mirror, the ones up top could see the belly button reflected in the mirror. That was number seven, and only two more remained.
Those two were the worst ones. They sort of seemed level with each other but were on opposite sides. They both also happened to be inside Rosemary’s tight shorts, and the one in the back came with an awful smell and an even worse taste.
Howe didn’t want to accept it, but it was hard not to. On top of all the other piercings he had turned himself into, he also became genital and anus piercings. Howe was completely disgusted with this, but there was little he could do right now.
He’d just have to wait for her to take him off and then he’ll change back and find some other way. Rosemary, after doing her makeup, went right up to Carmine’s office and sat on his lap. Howe was a bit excited to be this close to him; he would surely learn something and make this worth it.
However, they didn’t even speak to each other. Rosemary got right to kissing Carmine and Howe felt the tongue-piercing version of himself getting licked by Carmine’s tongue. Then moments later he had Carmine’s big, calloused hands playing with the versions of him that were nipple piercings.

Howe was pissed at Carmine for being so careful, at Rosemary for being nothing but a call girl, and most importantly, at himself for messing up so badly and ending up as all nine of Rosemary’s piercings. This was easily his biggest blunder, and he couldn't wait for it to be over.
Hours pass with Howe going slightly mad watching Rosemary do absolutely nothing to help his investigation, but he calms down when she gets undressed to put her nightgown on. She was about to go to bed, which meant she’d take Howe off and he could leave.
She walked over to the mirror and then started to play with her nose stud. Howe was waiting for her to take it off and go onto the next one, but all she did was make it tighter. Howe was confused, but as he watched Rosemary tighten each one, he got very unsettled.
She didn’t take them off? Who doesn’t take off their piercings? Not even the earrings? Howe was freaking out as the reality that he could be trapped there as her piercings for a long time started to set in; Rosemary, on the other hand, tucked herself into bed and slept soundly.
After a night of panicking, begging, hoping, and finally giving up, Rosemary woke up and began her day. She showered, got dressed, did her makeup and hair, and posed in the mirror. That whole time, she only took off her earrings, which she put back on afterward.
As it turns out, the rest of them don’t need to come out; they’re made from metal that doesn't rust, so they can be left in until she dies, and unless she removes every piece at once and puts them down, Howe can’t change back.
It seems he’s really going to be stuck with Rosemary for a while. His only hope was that she’d need to get on a plane, which would make her remove all of them; otherwise, he might not get free until she died.
Perhaps he’ll never change back; she could give parts of him to someone else or even be buried with them when she does pass on. Howe is now realizing he made a big mistake. He should have stayed out of the mafia’s business; it never ends well.

I haven't thought about this aspect of the issue before... but I'm inclined to agree with you that looking at another person's piercing is nice and emphasizes their uniqueness (except for cases when the number of piercings goes beyond all bounds...) but to imagine that I myself would do even a minimal piercing... I'm terrified even from the thought

I have to admit this is something I'm not great with. Piercings make me squeamish. I don't have any myself, and I honestly don't dislike them on others, like I think they look good. I can deal with ear and nose piercings well, but the thought of things like anal or genital piercings, hell even the tongue one gross me out, but not in the normal sense. I just can't stand the thought of putting holes in certain parts of my body, it just grosses me out in the same way if suddenly one of my organs was on the outside I'd be grossed out and panicked. Other than the hole thing, I think they look pretty cool and are a cool way of customizing one's body like tattoos.

I don't know about other people, but for me personally, a piercing on a girl is such a small but very nice little thing, like a highlight that adds a certain charm... I'm not saying that everyone should have piercings or that there should be a lot of them, quite the opposite. Even minimal piercings won't suit everyone, much less such a large number of them, but there are girls for whom it not only suits them, but also seriously complements their image... But I digress from the point, and the point here is that I really liked this story!
