She then watched the mage head over to his spell books and start looking through them. He eventually found what he was looking for. He took that spellbook and walked to the center of the room and then stuck his hand out.
He then chanted something and Kendrick watched as a very familiar spell circle appeared. Kendrick gulped and asked him what he planned to do with that. The mage chuckled and said he had to see the spell in action in order for it to work.

Yeah, you'd think finding a mage in a place filled with bad magic created by ancient crazy mages would raise not one, but many red flags. Imagine how many fewer days she'd have if she simply kept walking and made it to a town. Oh well, she made her choices; now it's time for her to get out of the consequences of those choices.

What conclusion can be drawn from this situation? Don't trust unfamiliar mages! Seriously, what was going through Kendrick's head when she went after this mage... Although she essentially had no choice, so blaming her is stupid, but still... Now Kendrick needs to somehow stand out from this situation, and preferably quickly, because it is unknown what else the mage can do! Overall, the story is good and I really liked it, so I am looking forward to the continuation!
