I would Assume his Second Sword and the Bankai came from reading Plays, and Drama's of the time or maybe he visited the real world when plays were a big thing and got very fascinated. Never read the Novels so I dont know.

Now you know why Shunsui did not use his Bankai against Aizen. There were too many comrades around him during that battle that could have been caught in it. Its also risky since Aizen could have used his illusions to escape out of it and put Momo in his place as the target.

i don’t think this classifies as a spoiler because they already revealed this earlier in bleach and its not mentioned again but you where saying how his bankai spirit looked like the little girl who was playing games and in fact his sword has two spirits because he has two swords 1 is the younger girl who plays the games which symbolizes his shikai and the older one symbolizes his bankai also one of his swords is slightly smaller then the other representing the younger sword while the other one is a little bigger symbolizing the adult women
