Badge Quest Expanded Gamebook Coming to Kickstarter in July

If you haven't already heard the word, the Badge Quest Expanded Gamebook is coming to Kickstarter July 18, 2023, a little less than two months from now.
The expanded book will offer a lot more content without totally overwriting the original book. That includes:
- New rules expanding on the original gamebook
- A fully detailed neighborhood for you to explore with your scouts
- New bad guys and allies
- A full-length badge quest mystery/selling season/campaign
In addition to the 200+-page hardcover book, we will also have some cool accessories, including:
- Badge Quest dice
- T-shirts and other schwag
- And the number one demanded thing... PHYSICAL BADGES!

Can you make clearer how much of this book is redundant with the original book? I'm struggling to understand how the Kickstarter book is almost entirely new content but would be able to stand alone without the previous book. Or is this book an addition, where someone who intends to play would need both books?

Since it's A4, likely it won't take up too much space (10 pages I estimate versus the 256 I plan to have in the book). The majority of the book will be new stuff.

Are you planning to have a softcover option with just the new material for the early adopters of the game who have the Vol1 original book or is this basically going to be a re-purchase for the original buyers?
