Watching what his past self had done from one step behind was unfamiliar and new in many ways. Of course, it wasn't a positive kind of newness.
Yuder saw himself standing in front of Kishiar that day to kill him. He seemed to have too many gaps to be someone who had come to assassinate someone, couldn't properly hide his emotions, and had no composure at all. The way he was on edge and reacting to every single word Kishiar said was so vivid that even he himself found it absurd.
If Kishiar had intended to counterattack, he could have easily killed and driven Yuder out without much effort.
As he stepped back, new aspects began to be seen on Kishiar's side as well. He was pretending not to notice Yuder's gaps even though he was aware of them, and was focusing all his attention on feigning calmness as if there was nothing wrong with his body. Yuder from his previous life, who was used to his tired-looking face and capricious attitude, didn't notice that fact, but to the current Yuder, it was too easy to see what efforts he was making.
The precariously looking dark eyes. The dry lips that swallowed a stifled cough as if holding something back. He looked so uninterested in anything in the world that he even seemed indifferent to the one who had come to kill him, but for that, his gaze never left Yuder.
Such very faint signs that he wouldn't have thought strange if he hadn't known the healthy Kishiar who had nothing to hide now.
Honestly, just watching it was a really painful thing to do. Nevertheless, the only reason he endured it was because he was finally able to see the moment of the past that he couldn't remember again.
If he hadn't found any traces on Kishiar's face that didn't match his past memories, he would have surely been able to endure and watch until the end.
The faint emotion that had been in his eyes just before Kishiar used his power to push out the connection. The warmth that suddenly reflected in the eyes of the man who had been facing the assassin without a single waver.
Fragments of warm emotions that would normally be called concern and worry.
As far as Yuder remembered, he had never seen such light in Kishiar of his previous life even once.
But wasn't there also someone for whom that warmth was so natural that it was rather strange when he didn't have such eyes?
It was none other than the current Kishiar. Even if his head couldn't understand, his heart clearly distinguished it. The one with those eyes was not here now. For a moment, his heart beat violently.

At that moment, cracks began to form around Yuder. As if the world was crumbling and breaking apart the moment he realized that all of this was a dream while dreaming, everything quickly lost its color.
Yuder hurriedly ran to Kishiar and called out to him.
The cry he called out, recalling the time when Kishiar had woken him up in a dream he had before, seemed to have fortunately reached him. As the last thing he saw was the man's eyes shaking greatly and reacting, the world completely collapsed.

That the dream he had just had was truly not Yuder's.
Yuder reached out his arms and embraced his head just before he could move his lips to say something. He instinctively felt that he had to do that. The man who was about to say something quietly exhaled with his head buried in Yuder's arms as he was embraced.
Until the two violently beating hearts slowly subsided and completely regained their usual rhythm, Yuder continued to hold him and caress his hair. Compared to what he had done for Yuder before, it was infinitely clumsy, but still, without stopping, he continued.
"...Did you hear my call?"
The one who had his face buried in Yuder's arms slowly nodded. Yuder closed his eyes and clenched his teeth.
"I clearly thought I fell asleep first... I don't know what happened. Still... I'm glad you seem to have woken up quickly."

"Are you alright? Can you tell me what happened?"
Only then did the man slowly raise his head and gaze at Yuder as if seeing him for the first time in a very long time. A faint, dry smile rose on his lips.

What he felt through that scent was only one thing.
A desperately deep sadness.
He slowly opened his lips and whispered.
"I also can't know the reason for sure, but that was definitely a part of the nightmare I had been having. As soon as I opened my eyes, everything I experienced in the dream disappeared in an instant like an unallowed light."
As Yuder had felt, that earlier was not Yuder's dream. He wasn't very surprised as it was what he had predicted. Kishiar himself may not remember the content, but he had countless nightmares until now. Hadn't he called 'Yudrain' like the Kishiar of his previous life when he tried to wake him up from a dream?
'Did falling asleep while connected have such a mixed effect?'
The moment Yuder's gaze turned to the golden threads that were still hanging around without completely disappearing, Kishiar continued.
"At least the reason it didn't completely disappear... is probably because of this connection. I think I'm starting to understand a little now that I couldn't even hold on to it like this before."
After saying that, the man was silent for a moment. And suddenly, he said something Yuder had never expected.
"-I saw hands wearing white gloves."

The moment he said that, the outside suddenly became noisy. Yuder instantly felt an ominous premonition running down his spine and quickly turned his head. Kishiar closed his eyes deeply and opened them, changing his expression.
It was the face of Kishiar La Orr, the lord of Peletta Castle and the commander of the Cavalry, not the man who had been trying to subdue the deep sadness in Yuder's arms. Kishiar, who instantly drew out the swordmaster's senses, recited the words he heard from very far away.
"I hear voices. They're looking for the knights. Something appeared in the outer sky..."

"You said you saw white gloves. Did you see inside the crack like in the dream I told you about?"
"I didn't see the other bizarre beings you said you saw in the South. So I can't be sure where that place was... but I think just seeing those hands is enough of an answer to this situation."
Recalling the speculation that white-gloved hands appear in dreams after or just before an anomalous crack appears, Yuder heavily nodded. They didn't talk any further and quickly put on their clothes and went out.
"My lord. You were in the castle."
Not long after, Enk soon appeared. With her usual expressionless face, she politely greeted and opened her mouth.
"I think you have already noticed as it is chaotic outside, but currently, a strange crack has appeared around the management office and square of Peletta Town. And we have just received simultaneous emergency support requests from a few nearby towns."

Man, the last couple chapters have left me deeply confused as to who was experiencing or seeing what was being described. I couldn’t tell who was who, who was experiencing what, etc, beyond current Kish seeing old Kish’s white gloves. But why was Yuder floating in the darkness and not awake when the white gloves led current Kish over? I have so many questions on what happened there.

While it crossed my mind, for now I prefer to think of other reasons why it happened. For the cracks it could simply be because it was a dream and the dream was falling appart. That's a classic in stories as for not finding the connection it COULD be because inside the cracks they can't find each other that way. The fact that their connections were fine once they were together is encouraging.

😨Does this mean that this game's Kishiar had started to push out the current connection that Yuder and this game's Kishiar have and not just watching a dream from 1st game Kishiar?! 😰 Why else does Yuder talk about cracks forming around him and everything crumbling and breaking apart and losing color. Also with current game Kishiar saying he can't find the connection until he saw him and embraced him did the golden threads appear and wrap around them again. I could be wrong...
