If you didn't know, baseball is my absolute favorite sport :D I shared a few opening day hopes and dreams for handful of games today in Discord as follows, winners in bold:
Orioles/Blue Jays
Guardians/Royals
Mets/Astros (I think this could be fun all year round tbh)
Tigers/Dodgers (expecting this to be a very close game and one that will set the tone for the rest of the season.)
I asked my dear friend fluff-cunningham to write this script late last year when I was feeling some off-season blues. The exact prompt was quite simple (scroll to the bottom to see the pic :D), and he delivered this very fun script!
Summary:
It's often been said that the opposite of love isn't hate...it's indifference. So one COULD argue that your arch-nemesis in the softball league is madly in love with you! And she would probably kick their ass for suggesting such a thing.
She hates your guts, and makes no effort to hide it when the two of you face each other. But still, underneath that hatred lies a great deal of passion...which might turn into sexual tension one day. And nothing gets your rival more wound up, than suffering an embarrassing loss at your hands...

Wow. Tempestuous would probably becghe best word for this, and it is a beautiful perfect storm scenario. The mixing of almost hate-fuck with possessiveness is so satisfying in a way I hadn't thought of before. Some serious deep cuts on baseball lore for me, I hadn't thought about chalk line traditions since I played as a kid. Overall, fabulous job, V.
