Seems like Seiji's finally realising that actions have consequences, and he might not like the unintended ones. This was a murder, the death of a person who most probably deserved punishment far less severe than this, and had Seiji not painted himself into the corner he did it would've been entirely avoidable. But he did, and poor Seiji needs to keep up appearances, so people will die because it is the most convenient option. And it is entirely on him.

Conjure material would make an item regardless of an illusion being added on top of it. I feel like the role of the illusion spell in that combo should me more explicitly spelled out at some point. Loved the chapter btw

Well, seems like he was very likely guilty. And if not, it's on Menytin.

Yeah, it's unclear whether both spells can only be combined in their templated forms, or their set forms, or some combination of the two. But if you can combine their templated forms multiple times...then you get infinite templates for the Solid Illusion (Real Illusion? Creation?) spell.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Maybe it's just a tendency to look for loopholes even where none exist but... Neither Cast Illusion nor Conjure Material can be cast without locking into a form first, but can they be *combined* before they're locked into a form? That is, you combine them, and now you have a Solid Illusion spell which needs a form, so you choose to make the spell "Solid illusion of Aster." But you still have the original two spells, so you combine them again, pick a form, and now you have "Solid Illusion of Nazralind" as well. But you *still* have the two original spells, so you combine them *again* to make "Solid Illusion of Junko" as well. But you still have... It may not work, but if I were Seiji, I would definitely want to try it.

That spell limitation seems pretty par for the course. The goddesses would naturally be really wary of giving people open-ended spells that could potentially be used in unexpected ways.

Ian Tonelli

Absolutely Brutal. A really well done chapter.
