I think it is too soon to know what is going to happen, but this is definitely a possibility. The issue with this is that we don't know anything about Yoshi. We haven't had a real pov from Yoshi's side. We don't know what he is thinking, what information/ misinformation he has been given, and his views on what is going on. For all we know, he could be a racist that hates Goblins and dirty whores. He hasn't made an appealing case for being a social justice warrior so far.

Honestly, from what I'm getting from this is that the Goddesses DEFINITELY decided to go with something new this time. Because they should absolutely be experienced enough to know that Yoshi and Seiji would get along like this. So I can't help but wonder if perhaps the Goddesses have gotten a bit tired of the current status quo, and also how the major nations have put a lot of effort into grabbing the Hero or Dark Lord as relevant as early as possible to make their efforts aligned with the nation's goals. So instead what they're looking to do this time is have the Hero and the Dark Lord work together to 'flip the table' and reset the way the world works. Because it's looking very much like Seiji is a Pragmatic Idealist who wants to level what exists whilst hoping that what comes after will be better. Meanwhile Yoshi is the Dreaming Idealist who wants to make what exists better without leveling what is there. Or as Seiji put it, he's going to raze what exists by granting Vengeance. But do not look to him and his efforts for Justice. That may very well be where Yoshi comes in, picking up the pieces afterwards...

I feel like the story can go either way. Flaethwyn is part of nobility/ elves that oppress everyone and keep society running the way it is. Seji is antagonistic to all that Flaethwyn represents and is determined to bring down societal structures. This makes Seji an enemy to what the Hero is currently doing, upholding society and their ways.

I feel like the death of spear lad is gonna bring the rest of the hero's party down to, well not down to earth, but down to ground level. I'm also guessing this means they're going to stop treating Flaethwyn like a princess, and she'll sober up real quick

Really liked this chapter and honestly while reading I suspected you were a fan of Ya boy Kongming! just like myself, but apparently that was unrelated. One thing I might suggest an edit of is the"nobody tells you about the shit of the dying on the battlefield". I feel like that has been done to death and Seiji as a performer might have noted that.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

And this time, the fate that the Dark Lord rescued the Hero (and company) from wasn't a trap Seiji had lain. Yoshi got into trouble all by himself this time, and not only was Seiji not obligated to help, he was absolutely putting his own life at risk by doing so. They're definitely going to have a hard time justifying antagonism towards Seiji from this point on. Although I'm sure Flaethwyn will manage to, somehow.

And if we’re lucky, recruit the Hero right in front of the goblins.

Earlier Seiji tried to lay the groundwork for being on friendly (or at least non antagonistic) terms with Yoshi. I believe this will be much more effective towards that goal, largely because Seiji didn't have ulterior motives this time. And then the Dark Lord is going to recruit the goblins right in front of the Hero.

Those of you who are active on my Discord server may know I'm a fan of the currently airing anime "Ya Boy Kongming." Surprisingly, that was not an influence on this chapter. This is one of the sequences that's been in my mind since before I started writing this story, and for this one I broke my usual policy and actually did some research about the nonsense Seiji says. Just to make sure I got the names of Chinese historical figures right, because that seemed like a detail he would actually remember correctly whereas I didn't. I had not realized Zhuge Liang and Kongming were the same person. So, how 'bout that.
