Check your firewall too, I've had that happen. Since the game isn't a normal install (A free standing game) Win-firewall doesn't ask you to allow it.

it could be any number of things, but usually for me it's windows defender or something got corrupted and i have to unzip the game again

Are you using mega? Maybe you have reach the max of the free download quota. I downloaded through google drive and had no trouble.

I learned to manually go in and empty the bin.

I just got it to install. Had to empty trash and it worked. Didn't know that android keeps files for 30 days before they are fully deleted

I've had that "failed to parse" issue before, most likely due to lack of storage. At least it was in my case

None of the android download links work. Mega says failed to parse after download. Google Drive downloads till about 40 percent and then stops due to error and go file will not download at all
