yep. If you've got a proverbial pinboard connecting the dots with yarn, for who worked on what with who, there's a lot of lines going between the people around this, and MLP. Lauren Faust picked a lot of her running crew for the writers, art directors, and voice talent to develop and run the show for the first two seasons.

I'm the same age as you guys (born in 1982), so I missed this when it originally aired as well. For any show that you decide to feature on What A Cartoon that is child friendly, I've also been showing to my kids. However, when the Hammer Bros. started saying "Spaz", my wife and I just looked at each other and started explaining to the kids not to us this word. I'm from the UK and have a colleague at work with cerebral palsy, so for this being used as an insult in a kid's cartoon was really wierd. To me it's one of those words that should never be used.

I'm a little surprised Bob and Henry didn't mention that Rob Renzetti was significant to the beginnings of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Not only was he working in tandem with Lauren Faust (Who he also worked with frequently) but he was a story editor for every episode in Season 1 and 2. This would have been around the same time as Symbiotic Titan but he would then leave the show to work on Gravity Falls. I know several people (myself included) tried out MLP because it had good talent such as Faust and Renzetti involved.
