Nich, so to clarify: 1. Zanka was NOT a genius, but because he worked extra hard secretly, he always Ace'd everything in his class, playing into people's expectation that he is a genius from this elite family. But when the White Hair Killua girl showed up and crushed everyone, he realised that he was in fact no genius and when faced with "the real deal" aka the white hair girl, he stood powerless. That's why you always see him talking about mediocracy because he views himself as one. 2. The whole flashback and the scene when he is going power-up and has the greatest comeback ever in his life towards Jabber was all a hallucination caused by the poison. So the whole time we see his flashback and he standing up about to fight back, is all in his head. That's what's clever about Gachiakuta because it breaks the norm of the main character's power-up after a flashback and shows you the cold truth that Jabber has long defeated him... That's why when Jabber lay beside Zanka and laughed with him was so disrespectful ๐ญ
