Thanks Kirsty! Cool, I've definitely thought about doing a tutorial on creating them, but once I get in texture-making zone, I always put that idea on the back burner... will try to make it happen. Of the elements on the site, it's almost all photography. The only digital elements are a few of the atmospheric things like embers and lightning. I bring my camera with me almost everywhere - so maybe half the textures are found (rusty traincars) and the other half are created by hand (splattering ink on the page, etc). I went through quite a few lenses to find this Voigtlander macro lens I shoot on... It's tricky to shoot with, but gets a certain natural quality that seems to be missing with scans, so pretty much shoot everything in camera! Some things get pretty heavily treated in Lightroom (heavy grunges) and some just get minor correction before posting. Thanks for the post, will try to shoot some of the process!

Hey Michael, don't know how I missed this one! Yes, exactly... I set up a little expression for things to fade in and out as they get closer to camera... Got a few more cloud shots this month, I'll post that project along with em!

I love your textures. They are amazing! Do you have a tutorial on creating them? Really interested to know if they are purely photos or if scans, a mix or something else. Thanks for all your content.

Brady, is that "keyable clouds" effect created by zooming into the same cloud image (set to repeat / copy) with transparency adjustment as you move inward? It's very cool.
