Follow up: Regarding placeholders in next update!
🕑 Added 2024-06-20 18:38:24 +0000 UTCGood timezone, everyone! I am back with the follow up of the situation regarding the usage of AI generated images as a references and placeholder as I have collected and read all of the comments I could in a short time.
While the general consensus is favorable and doesn't mind that I am putting AI Generated placeholders as we wait for the actual work to be finalized, some of you raised very valid points that I've taken note of seriously and genuinely; and with that I've come to a conclusion that I'll not put the AI generated placeholders in the next update or ever. We'll also try our best to minimize the usage of AI generated images in our references as much as possible.
Some of you raised a few points about the morality of using AI generated images as references/placeholders at all, or how this would affect my project in the long run, but that wasn't what concerned me.
Some might have the mindset of "do what you want, I don't care," but you should care. I asked because I needed honest opinions; I want to do what I want to do without actually making the readers unhappy or divided about my decision, so I was trying to find a middle ground, and so, I really appreciate everyone's input and insight, both against and for. These have given me a lot of food for thought.
Once again, we will not put in the AI Generated placeholders and instead, we'll have blank backgrounds until Vui is done with it, or who knows, I'll go touch grass and snap a bit of pictures around my area and use that as placeholders; I've been doing that for areas that are actually based/inspired on in-real-life places but Ternae is a bit different, so it's been difficult; but I'll do my best!
It's only a joke, it's not AI image I promise. They can't generate this masterpiece <cries and dies>

It’s for the best not to use ai it’s just not morally good to use the content theft machine even if it’s only temporary and directly told that it’s ai as ai still is stealing from other artists without the ability to credit the actual artists being stolen from

Ehh... I feel like you should've put them in anyway. Using them as placeholders doesn't hurt anyone and I definitely don't think it would hurt you in the long run but I respect your decision and appreciate the openness.

and you can also look at it as just not feeling into the AI shit even if it took a while more, and I'm also sure that it'd be harder for ai to get what you mean rather than explaining it to vui

Well, it is exactly opposite of what the majority say, but having to look for placeholder and manually edit them that they are no longer palatable for the eyes seem like much more work vs including blank BGs, so that works out XD

All of the placeholder backgrounds are blurry and obviously tampered with! So if you see that they are blurry or posterized, they are all placeholders. We won't tolerate having placeholder for the finished product D:

i am fine with either decision. thanks for following up. it would still be cool if you left an in game notice about which backgrounds are placeholders, so we know what changes to expect. thanks again!
